Science Education and Environmental Citizenship: a Relevant Encounter for Schools

Abstract

The following article presents the partial results of a doctoral research exercise by the first author, which seeks to analyze the relations to analyze the relationship between science education and environmental citizenship, in order to contribute to the training processes at school level. In this sense, 35 documents were 35 documents were analyzed, which gather the foundations, commitments, perspectives and pedagogical strategies for the formation of environmental citizenship, in order to contribute to the understanding of some terms and their possible pedagogical connections with the possible pedagogical connections with science education. It is hoped that the research advances presented here will nurture the processes of reflection and critical research on the importance of involving both citizen and environmental perspectives in science education in the school setting.
