This study proposes a systematic review of the characteristics and quality indicators used to measure the performance of vocational training. Our in-depth analysis of the existing literature, comprising some 50 relevant studies, aims to identify and synthesize the most relevant and effective criteria for assessing the quality of vocational training programs. The methodology employed is based on an exhaustive search of academic databases, followed by a rigorous selection and critical analysis of the most relevant studies. This approach enabled us to extract and categorize key performance indicators, while taking into account the specificities of different training contexts. Our findings highlight a set of key characteristics, such as the match between skills taught and the needs of the labor market, the quality of teaching, the professional integration of graduates, and learner satisfaction. Among the quality indicators identified are post-training employability rates, the level of skills acquired, and the return on investment for companies and individuals. This systematic review provides a valuable frame of reference for policy-makers, training organizations and researchers in the field of vocational training. It contributes to a better understanding of the factors influencing the quality and performance of training programs, paving the way for targeted improvements and optimization of the resources invested in this crucial sector.
