Abstract

High impedance faults are generally not detected by conventional protection functions because of magnitude of impedance involved in fault path different than the conventional fault current profiles like overcurrent, grounding. By applying Fast Fourier Transform technique with operation, the fault detection instruments give correct fault result with saving the time.
