Abstract

Waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) is a category of waste consisting of equipment at the end of its life cycle, operating on electricity or via electromagnetic fields. Aware that electronic waste is a source of pollution and danger for nature and therefore for man, many industrialized and less industrialized countries are organizing themselves little by little in order to recover in particular the materials contained in this waste. In the United States or in France, recycling has become compulsory and waste must be taken care of by special channels and companies. These same companies are financed by taxes imposed on manufacturers by following the “polluter pays” principle. This recovery operation being preceded by a separation step ensured by gravitational or flotation processes, there is competition from electrostatic separation devices characterized by low energy consumption, as well as reduced operating and maintenance costs.

Keyphrases: charge/masse (Q/m), la force électrostatique, le séparateur électrostatique à chute libre, les matériaux plastiques granulaires, l’effet triboélectrique
