HMDS 2027 brings together theory, simulation, experiments, and applications for systems that interact across multiple engineering and computational domains.

Submission Guidelines

Authors are invited to submit a two-page abstract and may indicate a preference for oral or poster presentation. Abstract submission opens on July 1, 2026 and closes on November 15, 2026. Decisions will be communicated before December 15, 2026.

Authors selected for oral presentation will be invited to submit a full paper by January 31, 2027. Details and templates are available at hmds2027.org/authors.

• System integration, interoperability, distributed control, coordination, and sensor fusion
• Robotics, autonomous and cyber-physical systems, IoT, AI, and digital twins
• Modeling, simulation, human-machine interfaces, energy, biomedical systems, and engineering education

Publication

Selected peer-reviewed full papers will be published in Springer's Mechanisms and Machine Science series. The series is indexed in Scopus and Ei-Compendex; chapters receive a DOI and the volume receives an ISBN. Publication is free of charge for authors. Papers must be at least 6 pages; 8-10 pages are recommended.

Venue

Tokyo Metropolitan University, Minami-Osawa Campus, Tokyo, Japan. The symposium will take place from March 30 to April 2, 2027.
