After a decade-long hiatus, the prestigious conference on the Geology of the Arab World (GAW) is making its highly anticipated return, bringing together leading geoscientists, researchers, and industry experts from across the region and beyond. GAW 1 was held 1992 by Prof. Ali Sadek held in Cairo University. Since then, this landmark event has served as a vital platform for exploring the latest advancements in geological research, resource management, and sustainable development, with a focus on the uniquely extensive geological landscapes of the Arab world. As global challenges reshape the field of geosciences, this conference aims to foster collaboration, innovation, and knowledge exchange, ensuring that the region remains at the forefront of the geoscience's innovation and application.

The Arab region holds a significant share of global energy production, particularly in oil and natural gas (30% of global crude oil production and 18% of the world's natural gas production). Moreover, the Arab region is rich in mineral resources and raw materials, including phosphates, gold, aluminum, copper, iron ore, and rare earth elements. These resources play a crucial role in global supply chains.

The Geology Department of the Cairo University is delighted to invite scientists and researchers to congregate in the Cairo University campus for the 12th international conference on the geology of the Arab world (GAW 12).

This conference, being the most reputable geological conference in Egypt, brings together leading researchers and scientists in the domain of interest from around the world. The principal purpose of the 12th copy of this conference is to shed light on the new and innovative topics in all disciplines of geology and geosciences in the Arab world.
