We invite researchers, composers, scientists, technologists and performers to submit their work to the international conference on technologies for music notation and representation TENOR 2026. This conference in Vienna has a focus on innovative advancements on audio scores: musical notation, representation technologies, methods of composition, interpretation, psychoacoustic questions and aesthetic analysis connected to the concept of mimesis. The conference is part of the research project Sound as Score funded in whole or in part by the Austrian Science Fund (FWF) and hosted by the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna (mdw) and the Austrian Academy of Sciences (ÖAW), Vienna.
Conference Theme: Sound as Score
This year’s conference will focus on audio scores and its aesthetic and pychoacoustic impact and aims to foster innovative advancements and a lively and interdisciplinary dialog.
