MSST 2019 will be held May 20-24, 2019 at Santa Clara University, Santa Clara, CA. The Research Track will be May 23 and 24.

The Research Program Committee requests the submission of research papers on the implementation, design, and analysis of file and storage systems. Specific areas of interest include, but are not limited to:

• Long-term data preservation and management
• Storage for virtualized environments
• Disk and flash based primary and cold storage systems
• File systems for shingled magnetic recording hard disk drives
• File systems for solid state disk drives
• Tiered storage
• Storage virtualization
• Networked storage architectures
• New storage APIs: object storage, key-value stores, and others
• I/O stacks for low-latency storage devices
• Storage class memory devices and systems, such as phase change memory• Storage solutions usability
• New memory technologies

As is traditional, MSST will solicit short (4-6 pages) and full (8-14 pages) papers. MSST values conciseness and encourages authors not to exploit the page limit to its fullest. A typical research paper is 10 pages long. References are not included in page counts. Submission procedures will be published soon. All papers submitted should not be simultaneously submitted to another venue. Authors of accepted papers are expected to present in person (unless exceptional circumstances such as a documented, denied visa prevail) and papers of authors that do not comply will be withdrawn from publication, following the practices of IEEE conferences. Refund of conference fees will only be given under exceptional circumstances. The organizers will make every effort to keep the conference fees low, but there will not be travel grants for students.
