Langues et Langages à la croisée des Disciplines - Language and Languages at the crossroads of Disciplines is a new research group supported by the CNRS. The group organizes an international conference in France each year with the aim of advancing scientific understanding of human language and linguistic systems, as well as serving as a forum to foster new collaborations and cross-fertilization between different research disciplines and approaches.
Following the first edition, we are now organizing the 2nd LLcD Meeting, which will take place at the University of Lille from September 1 to 5, 2025.
This year’s conference will feature a general session, thematic workshops and keynote lectures presented in a round table format. The languages of communication will be English and French. A call for workshop proposals will precede the call for individual presentations.
Call for papers
We invite papers on all sub-fields of linguistics, languages, approaches (descriptive, theoretical, empirical, interdisciplinary, etc.), in order to promote diversity across disciplines and methodologies. The proposals are not required to address the main theme of the conference. The languages of the conference are English and French.
Abstracts may be submitted for the general session, or for the thematic workshops that are organized as part of LLcD 2025. The list of workshops can be found here.
Talks in the general session and workshops will last 20 min. for presentation plus 5 min. for discussion (and 5 min. room change). Each workshop will comprise a minimum of 7 talks.
Submission Guidelines
Abstracts must not contain any information that could identify the authors (name, affiliation, address, bibliographical references). Proposals should be no longer than 500 words (including examples, excluding references), and should clearly state the research questions, approach, methodology, data and results. The abstract should be written in English or French, and formatted according to the template provided. The English version of the template can be found here and the French version here.
Submission deadlines and details
Abstracts must be submitted via EasyChair, no later than March 30, 2025.
Each submission is subject to three reviews. Abstracts submitted for the general session will be evaluated by three members of the Scientific Committee. Abstracts submitted for workshops will be assessed by two members of the Scientific Committee and (one of) the workshop organizer(s).
