The LDMSCON2025 Program Committee invites proposals for the annual LDMS Users Group conference (LDMSCON). LDMSCON brings together the LDMS community to share experiences, discuss challenges, and collaborate on future directions.
Submission Types and Requirements
LDMSCON2025 offers multiple ways to participate and contribute to the conference program:
- Presentations: Share your experiences, implementations, or research findings in standard 30-minute presentations. Present new ideas, desired capabilities, implementation challenges, or early work in concise 15-minute lightning talks.
- Interactive Sessions: Engage the community through collaborative Birds of a Feather (BoF) discussions or Panel sessions that explore important LDMS topics.
- Tutorials: Provide hands-on or demonstrative educational sessions to help attendees develop practical skills related to LDMS technologies.
Each submission type has specific requirements and deadlines as detailed below. Please select the format that best suits your content and objectives.
Presentations: 30-minute Presentations (including Q&A)
Topics include, but are not limited to:
- Site experiences with LDMS
- Installation and configuration approaches
- Data analysis and visualization techniques
- Performance monitoring and diagnostic insights
- Innovative uses of LDMS
Submission Requirement: Abstract of up to 500 words clearly describing the material and its value to the community
Deadlines:
- Abstract: May 23, 2025
- Material: June 20, 2025
Presentations: 15-minute Lightning Talks (including Q&A)
Topics include, but are not limited to:
- Desired capabilities in monitoring and analysis
- Implementation challenges
- New ideas for collaboration
- Early work presentations
Submission Requirement: Abstract of up to 250 words describing the issue and its importance to the community
Deadlines:
- Abstract: May 23, 2025
- Material: June 20, 2025
Interactive Sessions: Birds of a Feather (BoF)
Birds of a Feather sessions bring together attendees with common interests to discuss specific topics, share experiences, and explore collaborative opportunities. These informal, interactive sessions are ideal for addressing emerging challenges, brainstorming solutions, or building community connections around LDMS-related topics.
Submission Requirement: Proposal abstract of up to 500 words that includes:
- Motivation and objectives of the session
- Session format (e.g., facilitated discussion, short presentation followed by Q&A) -- preferably interactive with audience
- Required time length (30, 60, or 90 minutes)
Deadline:
- Proposal: April 30, 2025
Interactive Sessions: Panel Discussions
Panel discussions feature multiple experts sharing diverse perspectives on important LDMS topics. These structured sessions allow for in-depth exploration of current issues, best practices, or future directions through moderated conversation and audience engagement.
Submission Requirement: Proposal abstract of up to 500 words that includes:
- The panel topic
- Panel motivation and objectives
- 5-8 key questions that will guide the panel discussion
- Preferred time allocation (30 or 60 minutes)
- Approximate number of panelists (recommended 3-5)
- Description of desired panelist expertise/roles (e.g., developers, users, administrators, researchers)
- If available at submission time: list of confirmed or potential panelists and moderator (with affiliations)
Note: Final confirmation of panelists and a moderator can be provided after acceptance if not available at submission time. Panel organizers are responsible for securing panelists and a moderator for their session.

- Proposal: April 30, 2025
Tutorials
Tutorials offer in-depth learning opportunities on LDMS concepts, implementations, and applications, enabling participants to develop valuable skills and knowledge. Both lecture-with-demonstration formats and hands-on interactive sessions are welcome, with hands-on sessions especially encouraged.
Submission Requirement: Proposal abstract of up to 500 words that includes:
- Tutorial title and description
- Learning objectives and target audience
- Outline of content to be covered
- Preferred time allocation (1, 1.5, or 2 hours)
- Tutorial format, e.g., demonstration, hands-on, etc.
- Technical prerequisites, including required software (LDMS Version, SOS, Maestro, etc.)
Deadline:
- Abstract: April 15, 2025
- Materials: June 2, 2025
Note: To support hands-on tutorials, organizers will provide container access to tutorial speakers for preparation in advance of the conference. Participants will also receive access to these containers during the conference dates.

- Notification of Acceptance: Within 1-2 weeks of submission

- Provide all required information according to the submission type
- Submissions are reviewed to ensure relevance to LDMSCON
- Accepted submitters must provide final materials by the appropriate due date
- Materials will be made available to all conference attendees
