A joint event hosting two Conferences is being arranged that will focus on economic, financial, and statistical aspects of water and sanitation, as well on strategic asset management issues. The 6th International Conference on Water Economics, Statistics and Finance (WESF) is being planned by the IWA Specialist Group on Statistics & Economics and the 10th Leading Edge Conference for Strategic Asset Management (LESAM) is being planned by the IWA Specialist Group on Strategic Asset Management, both with the co-operation of the Department of Civil Engineering, School of Architecture, Land and Environmental Sciences, Neapolis University Pafos, Cyprus, and the School of Production Engineering and Management, Technical University of Crete, Greece.
Access to water and sanitation and also sustainable management of water resources, as well issues on strategic asset management are key issues in the world today, and have been a focus of both IWA Specialist Groups.
In addition, the International Water Association, representing the views of the global network of water professionals, has made the exchange of scientific and professional experiences between academics and practical water industry managers one of its pivotal aim. These two Conferences are intended to make a major contribution to the transfer of knowledge from research to practice covering the entire water cycle, ultimately influencing major policy decisions.
